DALE BOWEN
Dale Bowen was born in Staffordshire in 1963 and now works from his studio in Dorset. His passion for painting started early, leading him to study art at Newcastle-under-Lyme College. Alongside his love for painting, Dale is also a master potter with over 20 years in the industry. He spent his early career at Coalport China before moving to Wedgwood, where he spent 15 years in the Prestige Department, creating exclusive, highly decorative pieces for collectors. Some of his works have sold for over £100,000, and he played a key role in Wedgwood’s Exclusive Masterpiece Collection in Japan. More recently, he completed a master’s degree in ceramics at Staffordshire University and has exhibited privately in New York, Washington, and San Francisco.
Dale’s commissioned works include pieces for Coalport’s 250th anniversary, the Queen Mother’s 100th birthday, and the 200-year anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar—one of which was personally presented to Her Majesty on board HMS Victory. His works can be found in museums across the USA, Japan, and the UK.
"When painting, I use a variety of mediums, always exploring and experimenting to master new techniques. I work from sketches and photographs, but I find the most creativity comes from taking a varied approach. Inspiration can come from anywhere—observations, conversations, even unexpected moments that catch me off guard.
"Though I spent many years working with clay, painting has always been my true passion. It’s what keeps me coming back to the canvas. The creative process is all-consuming at times, but it changes the way I see the world—and that’s what keeps it exciting."
Bloom Fine Art is proud to showcase Dale Bowen’s incredible work, celebrating his ability to blend tradition with artistic expression in a way that is both timeless and innovative.
