Francisco Bartus – Contemporary Spanish Mixed Media Artist
Now available at Bloom Fine Art in Towcester, Francisco Bartus is a contemporary Spanish painter recognised for his bold, textured works that combine mixed media with strong conceptual themes.
Born in Valencia in 1965, Bartus was encouraged early on to pursue art. After completing his studies, he began his career as a professional designer and visual artist, initially focusing on still life compositions. These early works introduced his use of modern techniques and were well received by both galleries and collectors.
His work later evolved under the influence of psychological ideas, particularly those associated with Carl Jung. This shift led Bartus to explore themes connected to shared human experience and collective emotion. His paintings aim to express deeper, often subconscious feelings through colour, form, and composition.
A defining feature of Bartus’s work is his use of mixed media. By layering paint and materials, he creates a strong three-dimensional effect that gives each piece depth and physical presence. Surfaces are built up with texture, allowing light to interact with the artwork and enhance its visual impact.
His style is both expressive and structured. Bold colour contrasts and layered techniques combine to produce striking compositions that stand out in contemporary interiors.
Francisco Bartus’s work appeals to collectors looking for:
- Contemporary mixed media artwork with texture and depth
- Concept-driven paintings with emotional and psychological themes
- Layered compositions with strong visual impact
- Unique, hand-crafted statement pieces
His work has been widely exhibited internationally, including across the United States in Florida, California, and New York, as well as throughout Europe in Spain, France, Germany, and Switzerland.
